WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Members of the Grizzly Athletics Hall of Fame selection committee at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) invite area fans to submit nominations for this year’s honorees.
Formally established in July 2002, the beginning of the 10th year of the Grizzly Athletics program, the Grizzly Athletics Hall of Fame honors former student-athletes and coaches who have distinguished themselves by making substantial contributions to the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Athletics program.
To be eligible, nominees should have:
• made outstanding athletic contributions
• possess personal integrity and character
• demonstrate leadership qualities
• achieved academic success
• and represented himself or herself and Missouri State University-West Plains with excellence.
Student-athletes are eligible for consideration after they have been out of the university for a minimum of five years. They also must have either graduated from MSU-WP or transferred in good academic standing from MSU-WP and ultimately graduated from another accredited college or university.
Coaches are eligible for consideration immediately after leaving employment at MSU-WP.
Once nominated, a student-athlete will continue to be a nominee in succeeding years.
There is no minimum or maximum number of nominees who may be inducted in any year.
Fans can submit nominations through Jan. 31, 2021, university officials said. An online nomination form can be found at https://www.msuwpgrizzlies.com/general/Hall_of_Fame_Nomination_Form.
The committee will meet after Jan. 31 to consider all nominations and make selections. New inductees will be announced next year.
