Winona, MO. – The National Weather Service in Springfield has completed another survey within the area concerning all the storms and tornadoes that happened over the Memorial Day weekend.
According to this most recent survey, which took place in Oregon County, an EF-1 tornado was confirmed to have touched down Sunday morning east of Myrtle. Damage includes a destroyed outbuilding, homes with damaged siding, and numerous trees that suffered damage to their limbs and even being uprooted. The tornado traveled along County Road 288 before crossing the Eleven Point River near the Myrtle Access and crossing into Ripley County.
As a side-note to this survey, it was also stated that while the tornado as a whole is listed as an EF-1, the portion of the track that took place within Oregon County fell under EF-0 damage. All EF-1 damage took place further east.
No injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of this tornado.
