(West Plains, MO)With the summer season winding down and the final day of operation for the West Plains Aquatic Center just around the corner, dog lovers in the area have one more splash-worthy event to look forward to. The city is excited to announce its Annual Dog Swim, scheduled for Sunday, August 24, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This tail-wagging tradition invites dog owners to bring their furry companions for an afternoon of swimming, splashing, and fun in the city pool before it’s drained for the season. Admission is just $3 per dog, while owners get in free.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, several rules are in place:
-
Dogs must have proof of vaccinations (rabies, parvo, distemper).
-
Unruly or aggressive dogs will not be allowed.
-
Only dogs are permitted in the pool. Owners may wade in up to their ankles.
-
All dogs must be supervised by an adult (18 and over).
-
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
-
In addition to the posted rules, all regulations from Tuk’s Playground Dog Park will also apply during the event.
Registration will take place at the pool on the day of the event.
Whether your pup is a seasoned swimmer or just wants to dip their paws in, the Annual Dog Swim offers a unique and fun way to close out the pool season. Don’t miss out on this community-favorite celebration of our four-legged friends!
