A 28-year-old Bruner man struck a 65-year-old Ava man, who was a pedestrian, with the passenger side mirror of his 2010 Kia Optima after placing a cell phone in the passenger seat. He swerved to miss the pedestrian but struck with the mirror.
The pedestrian was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with minor injuries according to the Highway Patrol Crash report.

The accident occurred on Highway T at Goodhope.
