Pursuit Ends in Crash Early Friday Morning

At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, Howell County Deputy Kyle Holloway observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (more than 25 mph over the posted limit) on US Highway 160 near West Plains.
 
When Deputy Holloway attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to pull over, leading to a pursuit that ended on State Route AB when the vehicle crashed.
 
The driver, a juvenile, was taken into custody without further incident and later released to their parents.
 
Charges and citations include:
• Excessive Speed (26+ mph over)
• Driving While Intoxicated
• No Seat Belt
• Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway (resulting in crash)
• Careless and Imprudent Driving (resulting in crash)
 
Additionally, a juvenile referral has been submitted for aggravated fleeing a stop or detention.
 
The crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the vehicle was towed at their request.
