From the Wright County Sheriff’s Department:
On February 26, 2026, at approximately 4:09 p.m., a pursuit that began near Norwood ended on Highway 95 in Gentryville.
The pursuit was initiated by a Wright County Deputy after the driver failed to yield to a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 60 near Norwood. The stop was attempted due to the motorcycle not displaying license plates. The highest speed recorded during the pursuit was approximately 80 miles per hour.
Agencies involved in the pursuit included the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Grove Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit concluded when the suspect crashed his motorcycle into a Douglas County deputy’s patrol vehicle.
The driver was identified as Joshua Simmons, 35, of House Springs. Simmons had a revoked driver’s license. In addition to multiple traffic-related violations resulting from the pursuit, Simmons was charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention, a Class D Felony.
Simmons is currently being held at the Wright County Detention Center with NO BOND.
