West Plains, MO. – The Richards R-V School in West Plains announced on Monday afternoon that there will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, December 19, and Wednesday, December 20, due to Illness.
The school said in a statement “At this point we have a VERY high percentage of students and staff members out due to illness. After much consideration, we have made the decision to not return to school until January 3rd and we will be taking AMI days tomorrow, Tuesday, December 19 and Wednesday, December 20. Although this is short notice, we feel the long break will give everyone an opportunity to heal and keep others from becoming sick.”
What is AMI: Alternative Methods of Instruction Days
During AMI days students work from home. Teachers will be giving students an assignment to take home and bring back completed on January 3.
Christmas dinner for the students will also be postponed until classes resume in January.
