Routine Patrol Leads to Methamphetamine Discovery in Traffic Stop

A routine patrol turned into a drug-related investigation when a Howell County deputy observed a red Ford F-150 driven by a woman known as Jill, whose license was previously expired. The deputy first spotted Jill at Junction 14 gas station and later saw her driving erratically on County Road 1510, prompting a traffic stop.

During the stop, Jill admitted to driving without a valid license and appeared increasingly nervous when questioned about the contents of her vehicle. Her behavior escalated from calm to visibly distressed, prompting the deputy to request assistance from Cpl. Travis Weaver and his K9 partner, Ares.

After Ares alerted to the presence of narcotics, Jill confessed that methamphetamine was in a pink bag between the seats. A search revealed two baggies of a white crystalline substance, a glass pipe, syringes, and additional paraphernalia. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine using TruNarc.

Jill Weaver of West Plains was arrested and placed on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance according to the probable cause statement.
