Salem, MO. – According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a woman from Salem, MO. sustained injuries Wednesday morning when a Freightliner pulled into her path while she was driving in Dent County.
The driver was identified as Vada Calkins, a 43-year-old Salem, MO. resident. her injuries were classified as moderate, and she was taken to Salem Hospital for treatment.
Information on the crash report lists that Calkins was driving a Dodge Dakota on Highway 68. The crash took place at 9:30am at the intersection of Highway U when the driver of the Freightliner, 57-year-old Mohamed Gelle of Minneapolis, Minnesota, pulled in front of her while making a left-turn.
The Dodge Dakota was totaled in the collision.
