Sanders, ANRC Announce $13 Million Boost for Arkansas Water Projects

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) announced on Wednesday the approval of over $13.6 million in funding for critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the state. The financial assistance will benefit more than 42,000 Arkansans in 12 communities, enhancing access to safe drinking water and improving essential services.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Division approved the funding on May 21, 2025. Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward and Division Director Chris Colclasure emphasized the importance of water infrastructure in supporting economic growth and public health.

The announcement follows the completion of the first phase of the Arkansas Water Plan in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Since taking office, Governor Sanders has helped administer over $2.5 billion in water development projects across all 75 counties in Arkansas.

Notable recipients of the new funding include the City of Flippin, receiving $2.5 million for water system upgrades. This round of funding reflects the state’s continued investment in reliable water infrastructure, ensuring the well-being and future growth of Arkansas communities.
