Sawmill Stolen from Backyard, Culprit Located and Arrested by Douglas County Sheriff

Ava, MO. – A repeat offender has been arrested following the investigation of a theft in Douglas County.

On February 27th, a man reported a stolen portable sawmill to Deputy Aaron Box of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. The location of the theft was in Western Douglas County, and the estimated worth of the stolen device was evaluated at roughly $10,000.

The sawmill was located on March 7th by Sheriff Degase and Corporal Nelson at a residence on Z Highway. This happened as they attempted to locate someone with an outstanding warrant in the area.

The sawmill was returned to the owner and further investigation found Joshua Wesley Lingo, 34 of Seymour was the suspected culprit.

Lingo is a repeat offender with several criminal charges dating back to 2011. He is being held with bond set at $10,000 cash only.
