SBA Disaster Loans Now Available for Camden County Following March Storms

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has amended its federal disaster declaration to include Camden County, Missouri, making low-interest disaster loans available to businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners, and renters impacted by the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and wildfires that struck the region March 14–15.

The disaster assistance now extends to 21 Missouri counties, including Bollinger, Butler, Callaway, Camden, Carter, Dunklin, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Madison, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, and Wayne.

SBA loans can be used for physical damage repair and economic injury recovery. Eligible applicants may also qualify for loan increases up to 20% of their physical damage for improvements aimed at reducing future disaster risk, such as adding storm windows, insulation, or weather stripping.

“SBA’s disaster loan program offers an important opportunity for residents and organizations to strengthen their storm resilience,” said Chris Stallings, associate administrator for the SBA Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience.

Private nonprofits can apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) to assist with operating expenses like payroll and bills—even if no physical damage occurred.

Loan amounts may reach up to $2 million, with interest rates as low as 3.62% for nonprofits and repayment terms up to 30 years. Payments are deferred, and interest does not begin to accrue until 12 months after the first disbursement.

The deadline to apply for physical damage assistance is July 22, 2025, while applications for economic injury assistance are due by February 23, 2026.
