SBA Disaster Loans Still Available for Missouri Private Nonprofits Impacted by Spring Storms

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding Missouri private nonprofit organizations affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding from March 30 to April 8, 2025, that the deadline to apply for physical damage disaster loans is fast approaching on July 22, 2025.

These low-interest federal disaster loans are available to PNPs providing services of a governmental nature in 26 eligible Missouri counties, including Douglas, Howell, Oregon, Ozark, Shannon, Texas, and Webster. Qualified applicants may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged real estate, equipment, inventory, and other business assets.

Additionally, loan amounts may be increased by up to 20% for mitigation improvements such as insulation upgrades, weatherproofing, and storm window installation, aimed at protecting property from future disasters.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to help meet operational expenses like payroll and bills—even if no physical damage was sustained. Interest rates are as low as 3.62%, with terms up to 30 years. No interest or payments are required for the first 12 months after disbursement.
