Several Streets Closed In West Plains Due To Train and Vehicle Crash

West Plains, MO.  – Thornburg, Lincoln Avenue, Washington Avenue, Second, and St. Louis Street are all closed right now and people are being advised to find different routes while out and about. 

The West Plains Police Department has confirmed that there was a crash between a train and a vehicle on the railroad. They have confirmed reports of minor injuries to individuals due to the crash, but no reports of serious injuries as of right now. The road will be blocked off for an unforeseen amount of time.

Update at 2:20 p.m.

This morning a semi-truck got stuck on the train tracks. A train was unable to stop and hit the semi. The driver received minor injuries. This accident happened close to a propane business in town. The incident did cause a propane leak that has already been fixed.  Streets are still closed at this time.
