According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Chad Vincent Douglas was taken into custody following an investigation led by Sheriff’s Deputy Tanner Anderson. Douglas, who is a registered Level 3 sex offender, had reportedly claimed homelessness during routine checks since 2022. However, new information obtained by Deputy Anderson indicated that Douglas had been living at the Kingswood Mobile Home Park in rural Mountain Home for an extended period.

The mobile home park is located directly across the highway from the Mountain Home soccer complex, a city park — a location where Level 3 sex offenders are legally prohibited from residing.

Deputy Anderson secured a search warrant, which was executed Tuesday morning. Deputies found Douglas asleep inside the mobile home, along with multiple items belonging to him, further confirming the residence.

Douglas was arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center, where he was booked on the following felony charges:

  • Failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements

  • Residing in a prohibited area as a sex offender

Douglas is being held on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on July 21 to face the charges.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized the importance of ongoing compliance monitoring for registered sex offenders, noting that Douglas’s arrest underscores the seriousness of violating these legal requirements.
