Salem, MO. – Congressman Jason Smith (MO-08) is once again co-sponsoring the bipartisan National FFA Week Resolution alongside FFA Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) and Tracey Mann (KS-01). This resolution recognizes the vital role the Future Farmers of America (FFA) plays in preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders and strengthening rural communities across Missouri and the nation.

Congressman Smith said, “National FFA Week is always personal for me because FFA helped shape who I am. It taught me about leadership, hard work, and an FFA scholarship even helped me pay for college. I still proudly keep my FFA jacket hanging in my Congressional office as a reminder of where I came from and the rural values that built me. Just this week, I had the opportunity to speak with FFA students from across the state, and their passion for agriculture and commitment to their community left me more confident than ever in the future of southeast Missouri and our country.

“To every FFA student, advisor, volunteer, and family member across Missouri — thank you. Your dedication is strengthening America and preserving a proud legacy that feeds our nation and the world.”

National FFA Week highlights more than one million student members nationwide and its mission to develop leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. In southeast and rural Missouri, agriculture is more than an industry — it’s a way of life. Farmers and ranchers across southeast Missouri provide the food, fiber, and fuel that power the nation. FFA chapters throughout the district are preparing students to carry forward that responsibility, equipping them with the leadership skills, work ethic, and character necessary to keep rural America strong.
