On January 30, 2026, at approximately 2:23 PM, an officer with the Licking Police Department responded to the South Central Correctional Center for a report of an employee attempting to bring a prohibited item into the facility.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Corie Buckner, a 37-year-old male from Salem, Missouri, possessed and delivered a marijuana vape pen into the correctional center.
Buckner was transported to the Texas County Justice Center, where he was booked and later released for Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Correctional Center, a Class D Felony under Missouri law.

The Licking Police Department takes incidents involving contraband in correctional facilities seriously and will continue working closely with partner agencies to ensure the safety and security of staff, inmates, and the public.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
