Springfield Man Arrested Saturday in Wright County Fleeing MSHP

Mountain Grove, MO. – A man from Springfield has been apprehended for his involvement in a chase that began in Wright County, and damaged property in Webster County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, this event started at the McDonald’s drive-through in Mountain Grove, where a driver was reported to law enforcement for a series of erratic behavior. Police attempted to make contact with the man, who then fled the area and evaded arrest.

The chase continued in the Seymour area, where the escaping driver collided with several other vehicles and escaped capture once more. The driver, identified as Michael Phillips, 55, was located and arrested in Springfield later that day.

No injuries were reported, but property damage was. Phillips is facing criminal charges including Felony Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash, Felony Property Damage, and Careless and Imprudent Driving.
