Ava, MO. – A woman from Taneyville was arrested last month by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on charges which include resisting arrest and possession of illegal drugs.
This event goes back to July 16th, when Deputy Joe Dering responded to a report of a partially clothed female on Highway 76 West near Plainview. The female, identified as Courtney Duck, 26 of Taneyville, was escorted into police custody and investigation produced evidence of methamphetamine being in Duck’s possession. In addition, Duck is reported to have tried to resist being taken into custody multiple times, which led to additional charges being filed.
Charges against Duck include Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, and misdemeanors of Resisting Arrest and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond for Duck was set at $1,500 with conditions including twice-a-week drug testing and more.
