Texas County Man Charged with Molestation After a Multi-Year Investigation

A Texas County man has been formally charged following a multi-year investigation into allegations of sexual contact and explicit image exchange with a 13-year-old girl.

On December 31, 2022, the Texas County Sheriff’s Office received a report alleging that Justin Leyburn, then 21, had exchanged nude photographs with a minor. Initial attempts to recover the images were unsuccessful due to the destruction of both parties’ phones. Leyburn reportedly admitted to the exchange during an early interview.

On August 11, 2025, investigators obtained access to Leyburn’s Snapchat account. Photos saved under the “My Eyes Only” section included a nude image of the victim and two images of male genitalia. Investigators also received reports that Leyburn had touched the victim inappropriately under her clothing while alone with her in a garage at a residence on Highway C.

On September 8, 2025, authorities made contact with Leyburn at his residence and transported him to the Texas County Sheriff’s Office. After being read his Miranda rights, Leyburn agreed to speak with investigators. During the interview, he admitted to sending and receiving explicit images via Instagram and saving them to Snapchat. He also described a physical encounter with the victim around Christmas 2022, acknowledging inappropriate touching and stating he was aware his actions were wrong.

Leyburn is now charged with possession of child pornography and third-degree child molestation involving a victim under the age of 14.
