Theodosia Man Arrested for Allegedly Sacrificing Neighbors Chicken

Theodosia, MO. – A man from Theodosia has been arrested for allegedly sacrificing a neighbor’s pet chicken and using it to harass the owners.

This case stems back to March 31st of this year, according to the probable cause statement. The victims of the harassment had alleged that their neighbor, David Stecklein of Theodosia, had sacrificed their pet chicken and hung it up in his front yard as a display, stating it was his passover sacrifice. They also stated Stecklein had, on multiple occasions, threatened to kill their animals, and stuffed animal carcasses in their fence.

On April 4th, Stecklein made statements to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department regarding events. He stated he owned the chicken, despite not having bought it. When asked about why he sacrificed the chicken, he replied with “the Lord gave it to me”.

Stecklein has been charged with Felonies 1st Degree Harassment and Stealing of an Animal, and Misdemeanors Animal Abuse and 2nd Degree Property Damage.
