A routine traffic stop on W Harker Street resulted in drug charges for a local man after suspected methamphetamine was discovered in his vehicle.
On August 21st an officer with the Mountain Grove Police Department observed a black Toyota Camry bearing Missouri registration traveling eastbound with a malfunctioning rear right tail light. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Jeremy Gilbert.
During the stop, Gilbert consented to a search of his vehicle. Officers located two plastic baggies—one containing residue and the other holding a small amount of white crystalline substance. Both tested positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, a broken piece of glass with white burned residue was recovered and also tested positive for the drug.
Gilbert was arrested and formally charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
