On September 30, 2025, at approximately 4:29 a.m., Deputy Kory M. Taylor of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a red 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 60.
Deputy Taylor observed the vehicle traveling approximately 10 miles per hour under the posted speed limit before drifting across the fog line and partially onto the shoulder of the roadway. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as Eric Weekley, who stated he was returning to El Dorado Springs, Missouri, from Nashville, Tennessee.
During the stop, Weekley advised that he had crossed the fog line while attempting to retrieve his dropped phone. Upon exiting the vehicle, a glass smoking device commonly used to ingest methamphetamine fell from Weekley’s lap and he was immediately detained.
A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing approximately 3.36 grams of a white crystalline substance concealed behind the driver’s side dash. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Eric Weekley was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
A passenger was released from the scene after deputies provided a courtesy transport to Loves Truck Stop in Willow Springs, as her driving status was expired.
Today, Eric Weekley was formally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony, and his bond was set at $5000.00.
