Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for West Plains Man

A routine patrol early Wednesday morning resulted charges for Butch Doolittle after officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on US Highway 63.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., police observed Doolittle driving a black Buick Enclave with non-functioning registration lights. A records check confirmed his Missouri driver’s license was suspended due to a one-year point revocation.

During the stop, Doolittle admitted knowing his license was suspended and consented to a vehicle search. Officers located a small baggie containing 3.09 grams of methamphetamine and a burnt glass pipe inside a glasses case in the center console. The substance tested positive using a Tru-Narc detector..

Doolittle was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While Suspended. His bond was set at $5,000.
