Winona, MO. – The Twin Pines Conservation Center in Winona is currently hosting Fishing classes with some wrapping up today, and more coming in July.
This is all a part of the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Discover Nature – Fishing program, and is focused on giving young anglers between the ages of 7 to 15 a chance to learn more about fishing and the Missouri waters they’ll be fishing in.
Lesson One will teach the attendee about the parts and function of a spin cast fishing rod & reel, and Lesson Two will be all about tying knots and baiting hooks. These lessons are scheduled for July 11th at Miller Lake in Van Buren from 4 to 6pm.
Lesson Three will focus on anatomies, habitats, and life cycles of five common Missouri fish. The last lesson, Lesson Four, will focus on lures and fishing regulation. One part of these lessons will be taking place today at the Bray Conservation Area in Rolla from 4 to 6pm, and another will be at the Miller Lake area in Van Buren on July 12th.
