Twin Pines Conservation Education Center to Shift to Hybrid Office Model July 1

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has announced that beginning July 1, the Twin Pines Conservation Education Center (CEC) in Winona will transition to a hybrid public contact office model.

Under the new format, the center will remain open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as during those hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays when staff are present. The change aims to enhance efficiency and maintain year-round public accessibility.

The center will continue offering on-site educational programs and school support, and it will accommodate additional staff such as a wildlife biologist and a forester to better serve visitors—similar to MDC offices in Eminence and West Plains.

Since opening in 2008, Twin Pines CEC has served as a key destination for conservation education, especially highlighting the unique ecosystems of the Ozarks. The facility, located at 20086 US-60 in Winona, will retain its multi-purpose space for public classes, meetings, and events following internal updates.
