At approximately 8:15 PM, an officer initiated a stop on a Buick LeSabre after dispatch confirmed the vehicle’s registered owner had two nationwide felony warrants. The stop occurred and the officer, prioritizing safety, drew his firearm and ordered both occupants to keep their hands visible until backup arrived.

The driver, identified as Robert Goforth, lacked identification and was later found to have a revoked operator status with two prior charges for driving without a valid license. The passenger, Megan Engelking, was confirmed to have an outstanding felony warrant in Douglas County.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. During a vehicle inventory, officers discovered an unlabeled container coated with a white crystalline substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Neither Goforth nor Engelking claimed ownership of the container.

Goforth declined to provide a urine sample, stating he does not use controlled substances. Engelking admitted to recent methamphetamine use but also denied ownership of the container.

Robert Goforth now faces charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Revoked or Suspended. Engelking is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
