From the Douglas County Sherriff’s Office:
On May 7, 2025 at approximately 1008 hours the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Ava Police Department, and COMET Drug Taskforce, served a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Mansfield Street near the Ava Schools. Law Enforcement seized approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Arrested at the time the search warrant was served was Roy Johnson age 63 of Ava and Michelle Engelhardt age 48 of Ava. A warrant was issued for both subjects for
Possession of a controlled substance, Endangering the welfare of a child and Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $15000 cash only with CPS supervision and twice weekly drug testing.
