Video: Topliff sworn in for third term, appointed Mayor Pro-Tem

Thursday (4/15), the West Plains City Council met in special session.

Mayor Jack Pahlman opened the meeting by opening the floor to public comment pertaining to the proposed fiscal year 2022 budget (FY22). No comments were made.

The council then reviewed the April 6 election results. Councilman Mike Topliff received 381 votes, Donnie McClellan received 226 votes and three write-in votes were made. Following the review, Topliff was sworn in for his third term. He was then appointed Mayor Pro-Tem and Councilman Johnny Murrell was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Committee.

The council then passed the first reading of Bill 4683, approving the proposed FY22 budget four votes to one. Murrell voted no.
