W.P. Civil Emergency Order amended to encourage the use of face masks in public

The civil emergency order issued through December 31, 2020, has been amended to strongly encourage residents to wear face masks in public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to adhering to six-foot social distancing recommendations and utilizing frequent hand washing.

The amendment was signed by Mayor Jack Pahlmann and will go into effect at 12:01 am Friday, July 10. Mayor Pahlmann issued the original order on June 20, with the intent of slowing the spread of the virus within the City of West Plains. Businesses and services in the city will continue to operate.
