West Plains, MO. – West Plains has accepted an award in Jefferson City from the Missouri Arts Council, giving further recognition for the coordination between the city and multiple organizations.
This award is the Creative Community Award, which identifies a city, town, or district that uses the arts to boost community involvement and economic development.

This award was given in the category of “creative community” which included the actions of the West Plains Downtown, West Plains Council on the Arts, and MSU-West Plains.
Multiple representatives were present during the ceremony, including Mayor Mike Topliff, State Representative Lisa Durnell, and Emily Long, from the West Plains Downtown organization.
