WEST PLAINS, Mo. — This Saturday is the West Plains Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.
The parade will once again begin at 4 pm on the corner of Porter Wagoner and Missouri Avenue, travel down Porter Wagoner past People’s Park go around the corner onto West Main and then disbursing at the four-way stop on the corner of West Main and Preacher Roe/Minnesota.
Everyone in the Parade will enter the lineup at the corner of Minnesota and 2nd Street beginning at 1 pm. The lineup will travel up Minnesota to 6th Street, turn right onto 6th and then left on Missouri. Parents delivering children to floats may drop them at the corner of 6th and Minnesota, 2nd and Minnesota, or Concord and Missouri. Parade volunteers will shuttle the children to floats on the parade route on vehicles courtesy of Mega Motorsports and Heritage Tractor Inc.
This year’s theme is “Christmas in the Movies”. Prizes will be awarded as follows; The Great Southern Bank-Grand Prize-$350; The AirMedCare Network -1st Place Commercial Prize-$300; The Three C’s Studio & Flower Market -2nd Place Commercial Prize-$200; The Brown Furniture & Appliance-1st Place Religious Prize-$300; The Gammill Quilting Systems-2nd Place Religious Prize-$200; The West Plains Optimist Club-1st Place Miscellaneous Prize-$300;The Community First Banking Company-2nd Place Miscellaneous Prize-$200.
Don’s Auto Service, Ozarks Medical Center, and Ramona Heiney-State Farm Insurance jointly sponsor travel expenses for all bands participating in this year’s parade. This year’s parade supporters also include; Hirsch Feed & Farm Supply, Landmark Bank, Ozarks Coca Cola, Penmac Staffing Services, Southern Bank, Towne & Country Lighting, West Plains Occupational & Insurance Physicals, Heart of the Ozarks Medical Equipment, Great Rivers Distributing and Andy and Judy Ingalsbe.
