According to a Probable Cause Statement, Monday May 26th, the West Plains Police Department was called to investigated suspicious circumstances at a home on the 2300 block of Terra.
Upon arrival officers could hear a female (the victim) crying aloud. Upon
contact with residents, officers entered the residence and made contact
with the victim. The victim was transported to Ozark’s Healthcare, where
she disclosed that the suspect, Santiago Castro (a male who she is in a
romantic relationship with and shares a child), had strangled her and
struck her causing her to fall. The victim stated that due to these events
she lost consciousness for a short period of time and was unaware of her
surroundings until officers arrived.
Castro is being charged with 2nd Degree Domestic Assault.
