Mountain Home, AR. – With conditions growing worse with enhanced fire risks, more counties have joined the overall list of places in Arkansas in an official burn ban.
The two closest additions are Baxter, Marion and Stone Counties, with roughly half the entire state now enacting burn bans.

Local law enforcement have made statements about the seriousness with which these bans are being enacted.
“Anyone who burns during a declared burn ban may be subject to criminal charges under A.C.A. § 5-38-310” reads a statement from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office. They go on to say “We do not want to have to charge anyone under this statute, so please help us keep our community safe and do not burn during this time.”
