Willow Springs, MO. – Another fatality has been recorded in the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop G online crash reports, this time involving a 34-year-old Willow Springs man. This marks the fourth fatality listed in vehicular crashes in December.
The driver in this one-vehicle crash was Natthanael Giese, who was driving a Dodge Ram. Giese was travelling eastbound on Freedom Road when he left the left side of the roadway at 9:45 p.m. He then overcorrected and went off the opposite side, causing him to strike the embankment and overturn the vehicle. The vehicle was totaled, and Giese was ejected in the crash. He was not wearing his safety device.
Giese was pronounced deceased by Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater at 10:19pm. According to the report, this marks Troop G’s 37th fatality for 2023, as opposed to 29 this time last year.
The investigating officer in this accident was Master Sergeant D.B. Pounds of Troop G. Assistance in working the accident was provided by Willow Springs and Clear Springs Fire and Rescue, as well as Trooper L.J. Combs, and Corporal M.T. Weakley.
