Woman Arrested in Fulton County; Attempted to Steal Police Vehicle While Under Arrest

Mammoth Spring, AR. – A woman in Fulton County was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, and escalated it by trying to steal a police vehicle on Sunday, May 28th.

This arrest began when the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of an intoxicated female who was causing issues at the Saddler Falls Resort. Destiny Ward, 34, was intoxicated and trying to pick fights with people around her. A responding deputy attempted to find a ride for Ward to go home with when she began to escalate her behavior with resort staff.

She was taken into custody, and while in the back of the patrol car, slipped out of her cuffs, and slid through the sliding glass separator in the vehicle. In the process, Ward had bumped the patrol rifle in the car, which set off the sirens for the vehicle. Ward was ordered to exit the vehicle while she was reaching for the gear shift, and had to be physically removed with a scuffle by the deputy.

Ward is now facing multiple criminal charges, including felonies 3rd Degree Escape, and Theft of Property, as well as misdemeanors Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.

She was then taken to the Fulton County Detention Center with a bond of $20,000.
