Dora, MO (July 22, 2025) — A woman was detained and faces charges after allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting a law enforcement officer during an investigation into a reported domestic assault on County Road 6160 in Dora, Missouri.
According to a report filed by Deputy Hunter J. Ward of the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 1:43 p.m. on July 20, 2025. Deputy Ward responded to a report of domestic assault and had reason to believe a suspect named Parsons, who reportedly had an active warrant, was inside the residence.
During the investigation, a woman identified as Collins became increasingly uncooperative. When Deputy Ward informed her that he could not leave the premises without confirming whether Parsons was inside, Collins reportedly became agitated and began attempting to grab the arm of assisting officer Barslow #273.
Despite verbal warnings, Collins allegedly continued to reach toward Officer Barslow. After multiple warnings to stop, Deputy Ward attempted to detain Collins. While placing one cuff on her left arm, she reportedly began to resist, twisting her body and pulling her right arm away.
Deputy Ward stated that, due to her continued resistance, he brought Collins to the ground to secure the second cuff. During the struggle, Collins allegedly kneed Deputy Ward in the side and later kicked Officer Barslow in the abdomen while being escorted to the patrol vehicle.
Despite continued resistance, Collins was eventually secured in Officer Barslow’s vehicle. No injuries to law enforcement officers were reported at the scene.
Charges of Resisting Arrest and Two Counts of Assault on a Special Victim were filed. The suspect was placed on a 24 hour hold.
