This morning on KUKU 100.3, we spoke with Oregon County Associate Commissioner Jake Parker about various topics taking place within the county in 2026 through different talk segments of the Request Hour.
The start of the conversation opened with a discussion on the Thomasville Flood Mitigation Project, which was meant to provide relief to citizens of the town when rain volumes are high.
After this we stepped into a different topic: a reduction in the compensation towards the county based on sales of timber from national forest land. Parker urged that this was a major topic that will impact a lot of residents, and should be paid attention to.
The third part of today’s talk covered some of the progress that has come about with FEMA in relation to the damaging storms that much of the listening area experienced last year in April.
With time running out in the hour, Parker urged one last time for the public to get involved where they can, and how they can do so.
