WPHS students donate to Coral Reef Restoration Foundation

As part of the ecology unit in the high school Biology classes, the students study various environmental issues, including human impact on the coral reefs. The students wanted to make a difference, and they did. The students donated $2,615 to the Coral Reef Restoration Foundation.

38 coral were adopted and named by the students. Coral Reef Restoration Foundation is an ocean-based coral nursery that regenerates coral reefs on the Great Barrier Reef at Fitzroy Island, near Cairns. The students will receive regular updates on the growth of the coral and further information on the work that the Reef Restoration Foundation does to improve the health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef.
