According to a probable cause statement filed in Wright County Circuit Court, deputies were first contacted on January 16 when the petitioner, an elderly woman identified as V1, reported ongoing issues involving her granddaughter, Amber Lynn Shaw‑Crisp. Officers located Shaw‑Crisp that day and served her with an ex parte order of protection, advising her that any violation could result in arrest. She reportedly acknowledged the order and made threatening statements toward V1.

Deputies later learned the order had already been served on January 13 but had not yet been entered into MULES. It was updated and confirmed active.

On January 18, deputies were dispatched again after V1 reported Shaw‑Crisp had returned to the protected property. Responding officers entered the home and located Shaw‑Crisp inside a bedroom. She was taken into custody without incident.

V1 told officers that Shaw‑Crisp scratched on her bedroom window before moving to a back door that had been locked and covered due to a previously broken window. Shaw‑Crisp allegedly reached through the broken window, unlocked the door, and entered the residence while V1 was inside. Items placed in front of the door to block entry were found pushed aside.

Shaw‑Crisp was transported to the Wright County Detention Center with a bond set at $25,000.

She is facing the following charges:

  • First‑degree burglary
  • First‑degree stalking

All charges are allegations, and Shaw‑Crisp is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
