Recent Arrests in Izard County Include DUI, Domestic Battery, and More

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has released its weekly incarceration report for the period ending August 11, 2025. Sheriff Charley Melton reported several arrests made over the past week. All individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Zachary Butler, 38, of Melbourne, was arrested on August 6 on charges of third-degree domestic battery and second-degree terroristic threatening. He was also placed on a parole hold.

 

  • Samuel Copes, 22, of Oxford, was arrested August 6 for third-degree domestic battery.

 

  • Mackenzie Clayton, 31, of Evening Shade, was taken into custody on August 9 on a warrant issued by the Izard County District Court for failure to appear.

 

  • Adrian Black, 25, of Mount Pleasant, was arrested on August 10 pending formal charges related to criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving on a suspended license.

 

  • Charles Burton, 44, of Bloomfield, Missouri, was arrested August 10 on multiple charges including defective vehicle lights, driving while intoxicated (DWI), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Sheriff Melton reminds the public that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty and encourages anyone with information about ongoing investigations to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Office.
