Billy Nicholas Davis, 85 years, 5 months, 13 days old passed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2025 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. His family was by his side.
On December 26, 1939, Bill was born in Ava, Missouri, to Enoch Lincoln and Anna Laura (Gunnels) Davis.
Bill grew up in Douglas County and he graduated from Ava High School in 1957.
Bill and Darlene Rackley were united in marriage on February 28, 1960, by Reverend Oscar Cunningham. Together they had two children, Mike and Tammy.
Bill and Darlene owned and operated three grocery stores before working full time on their beef farm in Ava. He enjoyed working and restoring classic cars, tractors, farming, and being in the outdoors.
He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. Bill enjoyed reading his Bible. Bill was a man of strong character who loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; siblings, Dean Davis, Clifton Davis, Eula Campbell, and Gola Maxine Guthery Rosseau.
Bill is survived by his children and their spouses, Mike and Donna Davis, and Tammy and Carey Cook; grandchildren and their spouses, Maranda and Andy Kano, Casey and Evan Bovee, Scott and Amanda Cook, Zachary and Hanna Cook, and Scott Erin Cook; seven great grandchildren; his sister, Glenda Scott; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Bill will be Monday, June 9, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Family requests memorials to the Gideons.
