Funeral services for Brenda Lee Pennington, Age 64 of Mountain View, Missouri will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Mark Cassidy officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grace Cemetery, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
Brenda Lea (Yates) Pennington was born on August 10, 1961, in Doniphan, Missouri. She departed this life in Springfield, Missouri, on October 10, 2025, at the age of 64.
Brenda was united in marriage to Ronnie Charles Pennington on August 18, 1979. To this union, a daughter was born, Bailey Pennington.
Brenda was a good cook and enjoyed feeding the family. She loved to visit antique shops and flea markets, and collecting roosters. She also enjoyed stock car races and country music. Brenda loved living in the country with her family and her animals, especially her beloved dog, Brutus. She enjoyed fresh-cut grass and loved to laugh, as well as the occasional prank or joke.
As a teenager, Brenda worked for a café in Dixon, Missouri, where she enjoyed every minute. Over the years, she also worked for Angelica in Mountain View and, most recently, took pleasure in her roles at the hospital and nursing home in Mountain View. She dedicated several years to caring for her mother, Dorothy Yates Niebruegge, at home.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dorothy Yates; father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Rosalie Pennington; sisters, Bonnie Mitchell (Raymond), and Shirley Fisher (Edward); brother, Jim Yates; sister-in-law, Vickie Jernigan; and brother-in-law, Rodney Pennington.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Pennington of Mountain View, MO; her daughter, Bailey Pennington of Mountain View; two sisters, Geneva Pennington (Roger) of Vichy, MO, and Patricia Wilson of Hermann, MO; one brother, Billy Yates of Dixon, MO; one sister-in-law, Dora Yates; one grandson, Matthew Yardley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
