Doris Jene Holman, 78 years, 11 months, 19 days old, passed to her Heavenly home on October 14, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.
Doris was born October 25, 1942 in Ava, MO, Whites Creek community to Woodrow and Neva (Vinson) Holman. As a child she also lived in Neodesha, KS and then moved back to Ava. She graduated from Ava High School.
Doris worked in the nursing field as a Nurses Assistant for many years.She had worked at the Mansfield Hospital and also for home health care in the Ava area for several years.
She was a member of the Walnut Grove General Baptist Church. She enjoyed dressing up for holidays, going to rodeo’s in Ozark every year she could and her joy was being with children. Doris also loved her animals, her beloved Peaches and Corky.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Tom Warner.
She is survived by her family, John David Truhe, her cousins David Chambers, Patricia Hoefer, all the Vinson and Holman families, many other family members and numerous friends.
Funeral services for Doris will be Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Turkey Creek Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Vinson. Doris had requested memorials to be made to American Kidney Foundation or Turkey Creek Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
