Edgar “Ed” Chester Hergenroeder

Edgar Chester Hergenroeder, 90 years, 11 months, 3 days old, passed away on February 15, 2023 at home with family by his side.

Ed was born March 12, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Edgar Henry and Mildred Minnie (Bluck) Hergenroeder.

Ed was a veteran and served in the United States Army as a CPL in the Korean war.

He was retired from working as a Supervisor with Mojonnier Brothers Manufacturing Co. out of Summit, IL and had worked there for 35 years.

Ed and Liz were united in marriage at Hickory Hills, IL.

Ed was a member of the Cold Creek Cowboy Church. He became a DQP (Designated Qualified Person) in inspecting gaited horses for the Missouri Fox Trotter’s Association. He did these inspections for over 10 years in this community. Ed and Liz loved their horses and enjoyed trail rides. He loved working in his hay field and being outdoors tinkering on his tractors.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children, David and Dorece, one son, Kenneth; one brother, Don, his in-laws, Walter & Lois.

Ed is survived by his wife, Liz of the home; his son and wife, Philip & Marie Hergenroeder; two grandchildren, Adam & Dannielle; two great grandchildren; his sister, Jo Ann O’Sullivan, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Ed will be Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00 P.M.  in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the  Ava Cemetery with military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post #112 and U.S. Army detail. Visitation will be Monday prior to service at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor John Williams. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus of Mtn. Grove, MO.
