It is with both heavy hearts and gratefulness for his incredible spirit that we announce the passing of Earnest (Ernie) Edward Turner Jr., aged 65, who passed away on June 5, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1959, to Tom and Iva (Holden) Turner. Ernie was a man who never met a stranger and a beacon of happiness to everyone he encountered.
Ernie attended Salem R-80 for three years. In 2003, he and his mother moved into Hickory Manor and ever since then he made life interesting for the residents. He loved parties and he loved to peek in and yell “BINGO!” even though he wasn’t playing the game. He loved kids and animals. Ernie especially loved Christmas and Santa. When Santa arrived at Hickory Manor, everyone knew it, because Ernie announced it for all to hear.
Ernie is survived by his brother, Fred Turner of Licking, MO and aunt, Betty Young of Success, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Iva. Grandparents, Frank and Bessie Holden and Gordon and Ada Turner.
Ernie will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
