Harley Lee Allen

Harley Lee Roy Allen, 90 years, 1 month, 20 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on July 8, 2022 at Point Lookout Nursing & Rehab in Hollister, Missouri with his family by his side.

Harley was born May 18, 1932 in Barry County, Missouri to Amos Leo and Ada Rebecca (Standlee) Allen.

He served his country in the Korean War with the United States Army earning the rank of Corporal. Harley was a member of the Ava Adrain Owen VFW Post #5993.

On February 27, 1952 Harley and Laura Faye Swofford were united in marriage at Berryville, MO and they were blessed with four sons.

Harley was a longtime active member of the Gentry Church in Ava. He was owner and operator of the Ava TV Clinic and a farmer in Ava for years since 1966.

He enjoyed golfing,  working on the farm, playing music, hunting and most of all playing with his grandkids! Harley was a devoted family man and a man of faith!!

He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Arlis, Dorothy Garrison, Virginia Coder, Jim and Ken; a son, Reggie; a grandson, Travis and a granddaughter, Shannon Allen.

Harley is survived by his wife Laura Faye; three sons and their spouses, Ron Allen, Rick & Darlene Allen, and Rob & Paula Allen; daughter-in-law, Beth Allen; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three siblings, Bud Allen, Don Allen and Barbara Swofford; many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Harley will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion #112 and U.S. Army. Visitation will be Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 to service time.  Officiating will be Pastor Jack Clemans. Memorials may be made to the Gentry Church, Ava, MO.
