Jackie Ray Brashear, 79, of Thayer, formerly of Rover, passed away at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer on May 25, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1946, at Brandsville to Cecil and Lela (Day) Brashear.
Jack was a hardworking man who loved cattle, horses and truck driving. He worked for Grant Farms, CC Grace, Hobbs Cattle, and Twisted Ranch over the years. Jack loved working with his hands, horses, and loved to visit with his friends. He loved his family.
Jack served our nation as a member of the US Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Guthrie, five grandchildren; Brian Selby, Chad Selby, Kaylee Ball & Dakota Pierce, Richie Pierce; ten great-grandchildren; Holly, Hazel, Bexleigh, Wesson, Jaxon, Annie, Emily, Kinsley, Easton, Cason and his sister Ruth (Barnett) Thompson & a host of family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Brashear and his twin granddaughters, his parents, four brothers and three sisters, and many other friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Union Hill Cemetery, Brandsville, June 21 at 2 pm. Bro Marvin Dodson will be officiating. The ladies of First Baptist Church in Thayer will provide a meal for the family prior to the graveside service at noon on June 21.
