Jonah Henry Painter, Sr., 43 years, 6 months, 23 days old, passed away on May 13, 2025 at his home in Ava.
Jonah was born October 21, 1981 in Sarasota, FL to Dennis Lee and Martha Dyana (Holt) Painter.
He was raised and had a family in Lawrence, KS. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 2000. He worked as a cook for the Kansas University Collage for 15 years.
Jonah and Tara Caton were united in marriage in 2002 and blessed with three sons, Jonah Jr., Noah Andrew, and Gabriel Adam Painter.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and R.P.G. video games. He was very handy at fixing and doing home repairs. He loved learning auto mechanics with his father, and spending time with his boys. He moved to Ava three years ago to be with his mother and father. He valued and love his family very much.
Jonah was preceded in death by infant brother, Joshua David Painter. His uncle Dean Painter, Grandparents Etcyl and Eva Painter and Grandparents Willard and Alice Holt.
He is survived by his parents, Martha and Dennis Painter; his sons, Jonah Henry Painter Jr., Noah Andrew Painter, and Gabriel Adam Painter; His cousins Jeremy Holt and Christi Galvatron. His uncle Bill Holt and his aunts Lucy Holt, and Carolyn Scrivner.
Cremation services for Jonah are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
