Larry Lee Hutchison

Larry Lee Hutchison, 69 years, 5 months, 18 days old, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 14, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.

Larry was born November 27, 1955 in John Day, Oregon to Hubert and Laverne (Bishop) Hutchison.

He graduated from Ava High School in 1973, where he enjoyed playing basketball.

Larry enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy in 1973 and was in for eight years.  During those years he was an instructor for Navy Avionics School. After the Navy, Larry worked IT for Fed EX, Scan Optics, and Bank Tech before his 14 years with Mercy Clinics as their IT specialist. 

Larry enjoyed breaking, training and riding horses even while in the military and that’s where he met his future wife Tammy while stationed in Tennessee. Tammy and Larry were married on July 3, 1982 in Millington, TN. Together they enjoyed horses, fishing, camping, UTV riding and he especially enjoyed the serenity of a flowing stream. Larry was a Christian and was raised in the Freewill Baptist faith.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents , his sister Carol Day and nephew Mike Day.  

Larry is survived by  his wife Tammy, sisters Anne Hutchison of Springfield, and Wilma Pointer of Republic, nephews Steve Day and David Pointer, and nieces Terri Conner, Shauna Badami, Stephanie Gamble, and Amanda Templeton and several great nieces and nephews.           

Graveside services for Larry will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO with full military honors. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava.  Memorials may be made to donors charity of choice.
